To introduce a character we consider our universe's physical manifestation of chaos, we leaned into exactly that—disrupting pre-season teaser videos, taking over EA’s social feed, mocking our already established Legends, and giving our newest face of evil an intro that asks more questions than it could ever answer.

Born of stone with tremendous power. Burdened with revenge for her parents’ death. A hunter of the old ways. The truth of Alter’s origin is as much a story as her story itself. So instead of creating a lore trailer for our newest Legend, we embraced a season of chaos and twisted a tale as tall as time. Or is it all true? I guess you’ll never know.

What about your launch trailer? Well, we took a different approach…

Then, we kept the fun going, even allowing ourselves to make fun of past statements we’ve backtracked on to introduce long-desired game modes. And when it came to our “selling the skins” trailer, we bucked that trend, too, crafting a manifesto from Caustic’s perspective that leaned into the power fantasy we were delivering instead of simply naming all our Battle Pass had to offer.

Did I mention chaos? We enacted it all across our campaign touchpoints down to the lowest funnel you can get.

And there’s still more to come…
